The Western Illinois University Ag Mech Club’s Farm Expo will return this year. It was called off the past few years due to the pandemic.

The expo will include displays of farm tractors and machinery, ag sales and service, and more.

It will also feature a variety of craft vendors and free children's activities, and WIU faculty and students will show displays of their research.

Brick and mortar grant for Western Illinois Museum

Landmarks Illinois is awarding more than $25,000 in grants to preservation projects across the state.

Some of that funding is headed to the Western Illinois Museum in Macomb.

The $3,000 matching grant will be used to repoint the Old Macomb Motors building, which houses the museum.

The funding comes through Landmarks Illinois’ Preservation Heritage Fund grants, which the group said “are intended to provide monetary assistance to significant structures or sites in Illinois that are under threat of demolition, in imminent deterioration, in need of stabilization, in need of structural or reuse evaluation or need to be evaluated for landmark eligibility.”

Landmarks Illinois is a membership-based, historic preservation nonprofit organization.
