Davenport's River Center will host "Beyond Van Gogh" in May, and tickets go on sale this week.
Lance Sadlek, Executive Director of the River Center, says "Beyond Van Gogh" is immersive. It's a multi-media presentation featuring hundreds of his paintings, including "The Starry Night," "Sunflowers," and "Cafe Terrace at Night."
"They bring in a lot of the material used for the walls. And I think one of the prerequisites is the fact that our floor is relatively white so that they can reflect those images as well as portions of the ceiling to project those images. And if I understand it, there are four trillion pixels that will display all of these images, up to 300 of Van Gogh's images as you walk through this exhibit."
Projectors will create huge images, with text and music adding to the show. It'll be big, too, taking up 30,000 square feet in the Great Hall of the River Center in Davenport.
Starting May 20th, Beyond Van Gogh will be on display for two months. Tickets go on sale Thursday at VanGoghQuadCities.
