Two Bushnell teens are charged with first-degree murder in the June 2 shooting of 43-year-old Travis Purden.

Davin Purden, 18, and Nicholas Lafary, 17, were taken into custody Monday and are being held on $2 million bond each in the McDonough County jail.

Lafary is being charged as an adult.

Travis Purden was found dead in his home in the 600 block of Osbourne Street in Bushnell. He suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

The teens were arrested after Illinois State Police conducted an investigation that included review of surveillance footage.

Preliminary hearings on the murder charges are set for June 28.

Two others are charged with obstruction of justice, including Patricia Purden, 37, of Bushnell and a 17-year-old female being charged as a juvenile.

Both appeared Wednesday in McDonough County court for bond hearings.

Patricia Purden is being held on $75,000 bond. The 17-year-old girl is being held without bond.
