Macomb, IL – Another media consolidation is taking place in Macomb. Prestige Communications, formerly Central Illinois Broadcasting, will acquire three stations that make up the Radio Macomb Group from Prairie Radio Communications.
Prestige Communications owns Classic 103, The True Oldies Channel, and Modern Rock 95-9. Prestige is purchasing K-100, 104.7 WLMD, and 1510 AM WLRB. In a news release from Prestige Communications, General Manager Nancy Foster says the format of the newly acquired stations will remain the same.
In a news release from Radio Communications, it says the 13 full and part-time employees of Radio Macomb can either remain employed by Prairie Radio, but at another location, or work for the new owners.
The transaction is expected be complete in November.
Early this year, the Macomb Eagle and Macomb Journal were bought by GateHouse Media, which also owns the Peoria Journal Star.
