‘The Voice’ Standout Abigayle Oakley at Ca d’Zan House
Singer-songwriter Abigayle Oakley will bring her compelling blend of folk, wit and lyrical honesty to Ca d’Zan House Concerts in Cambridge on Friday, July 10. Presented by Crossroads Cultural Connections, the intimate, all-ages concert will begin at 7 p.m., with an optional potluck dinner beginning at 6 p.m.
From Las Vegas to “Nashvegas,” Oakley combines the melodic richness of folk pioneers with the candid storytelling of today’s confessional singer-songwriters. Her songs examine the complexities of life and the existential questions that shape us, often delivered with a sharp, tongue-in-cheek sense of humor that adds warmth and insight to her performances.
Oakley recently made her national television debut on NBC’s The Voice, earning an all-chair turn from coaches John Legend, Adam Levine and Kelly Clarkson. She is also a recent winner of the prestigious Kerrville New Folk Competition.
Having performed hundreds of shows throughout the United States and Canada, Oakley has opened for artists including The War and Treaty, Jed and the Valentine, and Forest Blakk. When she is not writing, practicing, or performing, she can often be found hiking the hills of Tennessee.
Guests are invited to arrive at 6 p.m. for the optional community potluck and may bring a dish to share. The concert will begin at 7 p.m. Attendees should bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating. A suggested donation of $20 to $30 will be collected, and the event is open to music lovers of all ages.
