For over four decades,the Knox-Rootabaga Jazz Festival, or “‘Baga” as it’s known to fans, has been a true celebration and affirmation of the unique spirit of the Galesburg community— a “small'' community that has achieved the rare accomplishment of sustaining and growing an annual jazz festival of national renown. The festival reflects a unique collaboration between schools, businesses, and the Galesburg community. The greatest jazz artists from around the world have graced the stages of Rootabaga. This captivating and richly layered musical weaves together beloved fairy tale characters into a single, complex narrative. While Act I presents the familiar "happily ever afters," Act II delves into the consequences of those wishes. Music and lyrics for Into the Woods are by Stephen Sondheim and the book is by James Lapine.
Auditions are May 4 from 2-4 pm and May 5 from 6-8 pm. The director of Into the Woods is John Siebken and music director is Bob Fornander.
Production dates are July 11-13 at the Galesburg Orpheum Theatre.

Lift weights and feel great! This hour-long, video-led program is designed for older adults or anyone looking for a gentle exercise routine. Weights and bands are available. In Feb & March, class will only be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
In this class students will explore a varity of media in art making. Projects will involve painting, drawing, sculpture, mixed media, and printmaking.
Open Mic Nights are back at Sullivan Taylor. Anyone with musical talent is welcome to preform Tuesday nights from 5-8pm at SulTay! Not preforming? That’s okay! Anyone is welcome to stop by and check out some music, do some homework, hang out with friends, or just grab a late night treat!
