Celebrate Railroad Days! Using mixed-media materials, kiddos can design their own 2D railcar and attach it to our community train! Their finished product will be displayed on the wall of our kids' area.

Join us for a full day of food, music, and community as we celebrate and support Knox County Seniors! This event aims to cap off our month-long fundraiser "Sunshine for Seniors".

Rays and Graze: A Celebration of Community, Compassion & Connection, presented by VNA Community Services and taking place Saturday, June 27, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Thrive Community Services in Galesburg.
Rays and Graze serves as the capstone event for VNA's Sunshine for Seniors campaign and will feature live music, food trucks, family-friendly activities, nonprofit resource booths, a silent auction, community recognition awards, and opportunities to support local seniors.
The event is free and open to the public and is designed to celebrate the individuals, businesses, volunteers, and organizations that help ensure older adults throughout Knox County can age with dignity, independence, and purpose.

Attendees can expect:
- A variety of local food trucks and vendors
- Live musical performances throughout the day
- Family-friendly activities for children
- Community nonprofit resource booths
- A silent auction featuring donated gift baskets and prizes
- Opportunities to support senior nutrition and wellness programs
- Information about local services available to older adults and caregivers

A highlight of the event will be the presentation of the Community Beacon Award at 3:30 p.m., recognizing an individual whose dedication and service have helped illuminate the path for Knox County seniors.

Since 1982, Macomb's Heritage Days Festival has been an annual family-friendly event in Unforgettable Forgottonia.
The tradition lives on in our 44th year, Celebrating McDonough County's Bicentennial and our Nation's 250th Anniversary with nationally recognized music artists across three days with free live concerts on the Pepsi Main Stage!

The Macomb Fire Department invites the community to join firefighters, city officials, and former members for a special Open House and Rededication Ceremony celebrating the 50th anniversary of Fire Station 1. The event will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Fire Station 1, 219 W. Jackson Street, Macomb, Illinois. The event is free and open to the public. The celebration marks five decades of service from the current Fire Station 1, which replaced the department's previous station that served the community from 1912 until 1976. Construction of the current station began following a groundbreaking ceremony in January 1975, and the facility officially opened in March 1976, providing Macomb firefighters with a modern headquarters that continues to serve the community today.

The event will feature:
• 1:00 p.m. Rededication Ceremony recognizing the station's 50 years of service.
• Guided Station Tours showcasing the facility and its history.
• Apparatus Displays featuring both historic and modern fire equipment.
• Family Activities for attendees of all ages.
• Opportunities to meet current and retired firefighters and learn about the department's role in protecting the community.

Saddle up and join us for a fun-filled adventure as our talented Marilyn Hart Children’s Theatre cast takes the stage in this original production written by MHCT alumna Janaya Hofmeister with music and lyrics by Hofmeister Productions!

Players Workshop's Young Actor Productions will present 27 area youth from Iowa & Illinois in "Dr. Experimentor and the League of Evil" by Charlotte Nixon, a sci-fi comedy about a villainous mastermind, a superhero, minions, robots, mutant bunnies, and other creatures and ingenious inventions, as Dr. Experimentor attempts to retain his membership in the infamous League of Evil. Shows will be from 7 p.m. on June 25-27 and 2 p.m. on June 28. Tickets can be purchased starting June 11 and are available at the door.

Prairie Land Conservancy’s mission is to protect wildlife habitat, open spaces, natural areas, and
sustainable agriculture within west central Illinois. Their service area includes the following
counties: Adams, Brown, Fulton, Hancock, Henderson, Knox, McDonough, Mercer, Peoria, Pike,
Rock Island, Schuyler, Tazewell, and Warren.
Prairie Land Conservancy is seeking a dedicated individual to join their Board of Directors.
Current board member Ross Braun has this to say about why you should join the board: “It’s a
way to make a difference by enhancing the great outdoors and improving our quality of life for
today and the future.”
PLC is seeking individuals with diverse backgrounds, experiences, and expertise who are
committed to their communities. Ideal candidates should possess:
● A passion for conservation and wildlife and a genuine desire to make a positive impact
● Strong leadership and decision-making skills
● Communication and teamwork skills
● Experience in some of the following areas: Land Management, Public Relations,
Marketing, Fundraising, Accounting, Volunteer Management
● The ability to commit 3 hours per month at board meeting and committees, with 2-4
hours for periodic special events or volunteering
Board Members are expected to:
● Be active advocates and ambassadors for the organization
● Fully engage in identifying and securing financial resources and partnerships to advance
the mission
● Leverage connections, networks, and resources to achieve the mission
● Provide strategic and organizational planning
● Engage in learning opportunities to better understand the communities they serve
● Respect the experiences of all who bring their voices and lived experiences into the
boardroom and the organization
