Enjoy an afternoon of strategy, connection, and friendly competition at our Mahjong Meet-Up! This relaxed, peer-led group is perfect for both beginners and experienced players. Participants learn from one another, share tips, and build their skills together as they play. Whether you’re brand new to Mahjong or looking to sharpen your game, this is a welcoming space to ask questions, practice, and enjoy the social side of the game. Please bring your own Mahjong set if you have one.

ImpactLife is partnering with local blood donors and drive hosts on community blood drives in the Tri-State region and surrounding communities during the week of August 10. We appreciate the support of local volunteers who step forward as volunteer donors and blood drive coordinators!

The overall rate of blood donation decreases during the summer months, so donations are especially needed this time of year. All donors will receive ImpactLife Donor Rewards: choice of electronic gift card, points to use in the ImpactLife Donor Rewards Store, or the option to contribute an equivalent value to a nonprofit through the blood center's "Good Giving" initiative. Downtown Burlington will welcome some of its youngest entrepreneurs to Jefferson Street during the 4th Annual Kid’s Market on Thursday, August 13, from 4:30 to 7:00 PM, as part of the Jefferson Street Farmers Market.
The community is invited to come downtown, meet these talented young kidpreneurs, shop their creations, and encourage the next generation of small business owners.
Young entrepreneurs ages 17 and under will set up shop along the 600 and 700 blocks of Jefferson Street with a variety of kid-created products.
Now in its fourth year, the Kid’s Market gives young people the opportunity to experience entrepreneurship firsthand. Participants are responsible for creating and selling their own products and get to keep 100 percent of the money they earn.
In addition to visiting the Kid’s Market, guests are encouraged to explore the full Jefferson Street Farmers Market, shop from local vendors, grab dinner or a treat, visit Downtown Burlington businesses, enjoy live music, and spend a summer evening with family and friends.
The Jefferson Street Farmers Market runs from 4:30 to 7:00 PM on Thursday, August 13, in Downtown Burlington. Admission is free.
Come meet Burlington’s next generation of makers, creators, dreamers, and business owners and help make their market night one to remember.

Curious about throwing on the wheel and looking for a fun introduction to clay? This four-week mini-course will focus on the basic skills needed to create simple and sweet bowls and cups! Our focus during this program will center around the process of throwing, shaping, and trimming pots on a pottery wheel, while also exploring basic surface decoration and glazing techniques. Satisfy your curiosity and join this relaxing course geared towards students of all skill levels!
Join us and learn to create in a fun and supportive environment! Course fee includes clay, glazes, use of tools and brushes, bisque and glaze kiln firings, and weekly open studio hours.

In this, our 31st year, we are excited to bring you one of the Midwest's largest and most unique public free admission living history events to be held at historic Lake Storey Park in Galesburg, Illinois.
Come share in the excitement with almost 1,000 Visual Story Tellers, Reenactors, Living Historians, and almost 50 merchants and sutlers. Make plans to join us at The 31st Galesburg Heritage Days, a free, public-admission, family-friendly event.

2026- Civil War Camp registration fee is $10 per military and civilian reenactor 12 years of age and older, no charge for children 12 and under, who must be accompanied by an adult. Sutler/Seller fee is $75. We will provide our usual amenities, powder, and bounties.

9 am - All Day, Camp arrival, registration, and set-up

Come enjoy beautiful Lake Argyle while taking a relaxing morning pontoon boat ride on the lake as we watch for wildlife. Life jackets, binoculars, and field guides will be available, or you’re welcome to bring your own.
**Pre-registration is required, and space is limited to 6 participants. **

Bring clothing items in clean and good condition to the library and swap them out for some new-to-you pieces. Patrons can bring in up to 15 items from August 10th - 14th. On the 14th, participants can pick out the same amount of items to take home. If you bring the items on a hanger (that you don't want back), you can choose an additional clothing item to keep. All clothes that remain at the end of the event will be donated locally.
