The Nauvoo Grape Festival is an annual celebration, held the Friday, Saturday and Sunday of Labor Day Weekend in the Nauvoo State Park and surrounding areas of Nauvoo. This long-running festival is packed with activities including competitive events, parades, entertainment and more! The weekend also features the Festival on Wheels Car Show, one of the region's largest open-air car show.

We are hosting Illinois State Representative and Candidate for Illinois Comptroller Margaret Croke for our Annual Fundraiser
Friday September 4, at the Spoon River Outreach Center, 2500 East Jackson Street, Macomb, IL.

Social hour begins at 4:30 with Hy-Vee catering our dinner, which starts at 5:30 pm. We won’t have liquor due to licensing restrictions. Proceeds will go towards our headquarters expenses and purchases of signs, mailings, etc.
We are also inviting U.S. Rep. Eric Sorensen, Illinois State Senator Mike Halpin, 15th Congressional Candidate Jennifer Todd, and State Representative Candidate for Illinois District 71 Kermit Thomas to speak.

The Three Entrée Meal Selection Includes:
- Roast Beef with Gravy or Fried Chicken or Vegetarian Entrée (UPON Request w/reservation ONLY)
- Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans, and Rolls
- Dessert
- Beverage, Unsweetened Tea, and Water

Annual Golf Fundraiser

Friends of the Library Book Sale in conjunction with the Gazebo Art Festival in Chandler Park will be offering a large selection of fiction, nonfiction, and children and young adult books as well as media. Proceeds are invested in the Macomb Public Library. This is a fair-weather sale only.

As a thank you to the Macomb community for supporting our annual March-a-thon fundraiser, the Macomb High School Marching Bomber Band invites everyone to a free concert in front of Macomb City Hall on September 12, at 4:45pm. Special thanks to The Music Shoppe for sponsoring this event!

Join us on Saturday, September 19, 2026 for the 30th Annual Great River Bridge Race! Experience the energy of one of the greatest events in Burlington that brings our community together. This event offers multiple options to give everyone an opportunity to cross the Great River Bridge on foot, regardless of skill level. All race proceeds benefit the Burlington Parks and Recreation Department, so YOU will help create a lasting impact for everyone in our community. Don't miss this opportunity to capture the breathtaking views of the Mighty Mississippi, as the Great River Bridge is typically closed to pedestrians! The 10k and 5k will both be timed and scored by Nonstop Race Management. Results will be posted on the Nonstop Race Management website.

Participants may choose from a timed 5K or 10K distances or the approximately 1.5-mile Bridge Walk. The 5K and 10K begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by the Bridge Walk at 9:45 a.m. All events begin and finish at the Port of Burlington.  Whether running for time, jogging with friends, or just walking the course, participants are sure to have a good time on this unique route, with the opportunity to go over the Great River Bridge on foot. 

- 10K: 9:00 a.m. – $30

- 5K: 9:00 a.m. – $30

- Bridge Walk: 9:45 a.m. – $25

- 5K and 10K are timed

- Bridge Walk is approximately 1.5 miles and is not timed

- Placement medals will be awarded to the top three men and women in the 5K and 10K

- Race results will be posted online

Out of the Darkness Community Walks are AFSP's signature fundraising events, bringing people together across the country to raise awareness and funds for suicide prevention. Whether you've been personally touched by suicide loss or simply want to show up for your community, these Walks are a powerful way to connect and take action together.
Every dollar raised here in Illinois goes directly toward research, advocacy, and education programs in our local schools, workplaces, and communities.

The annual survivorship celebration will be Saturday, Sept. 26, at The Legacy Theater in Carthage.
While the location has moved off the courthouse square, the event has the same cause and goals – to fight cancer and help those in Hancock County who are in a battle with cancer. The public is urged to attend and share in the celebration.

Events begin at 4 p.m. with food, drinks, popcorn, and snacks available outside the theater. Lights of Hope and tickets for the half-a-hog raffle will continue to be sold from 4 to 6 p.m. Survivor check-in begins in the lobby at 5 p.m., and the celebration will be in the theater auditorium from 6 to 8:15 p.m.

Survivors should register in advance if possible by filling out a form found on the HCFC website, by calling Joy Swearingen at 217-357-4989, or by coming on the night of the tribute. Those survivors whose registration form is received by Aug. 20 can request the annual free HCFC survivor shirt.
Event shirts, which help support HCFC, are available for anyone to order online at hancockcountyfightscancer.org. These orders must also be received by Aug. 20 so that shirts can be ordered.
