The Art Center is in the planning stages now. Be looking for more information on this exciting new event in the coming months, including how to register for a booth if you are a carver or how to register for a carving classes to learn how to carve your own spoon. During Spoonfest there will be booths of area carvers, demonstrations, and classes throughout the weekend. Relay For Life of Knox County has been celebrating cancer survivors for over two decades in our community. This year’s event, at the Galesburg High School Van Dyke Field, is Saturday, June 8, 2024. A one-of-a-kind event, Relay invites everyone touched by cancer to celebrate, remember and fight back against cancer. Survivors are invited to register online (at https://relayforlife.org/knoxil) ahead of the event, and receive a free tshirt in the mail (please allow 3-4 weeks for delivery).
Celebrating at the free event are teams that have conducted fundraising for the American Cancer Society, as well as cancer survivors, their caregivers, and their family and friends. Especially poignant is the luminaria ceremony when luminaria are lit in honor and memory of loved ones touched by cancer.
This free event will have food for sale, activities, and a silent auction.
