Come enjoy beautiful Lake Argyle while taking a relaxing morning pontoon boat ride on the lake as we watch for wildlife. Life jackets, binoculars, and field guides will be available, or you’re welcome to bring your own.

Grab your ghoul friends and get ready for a spellbinding evening in Downtown Burlington during Witches Night Out on Friday, October 16.

This festive downtown stroll invites attendees to visit participating retailers, eateries and drinkeries while enjoying seasonal samples, special offers, giveaways and plenty of Halloween fun along the way.

Tickets are $15 during early-bird registration through October 1. Event check-in begins at 4:30 PM at The Busted Cup Brewhouse, where participants can pick up their witch hat, costume accessories and event map before heading out to explore Downtown.

Follow the mapped route throughout the evening, stop into participating businesses and enjoy everything Downtown Burlington has to offer before wrapping up the night back at The Busted Cup Brewhouse.

United Way of Southeast Iowa is bringing a one-of-a-kind fundraising experience to Downtown Burlington on Friday, October 16, during Witches Night Out. Participants who raise at least $500 will earn the opportunity to rappel down F&M Bank, all while supporting programs and services throughout Southeast Iowa.

The excitement won’t stop at the rooftop. Jefferson Street will come alive with a block party atmosphere featuring live DJs, music, lights, costumes and plenty of spectators cheering on those brave enough to go over the edge.

Every dollar raised stays local and supports the work of United Way of Southeast Iowa.

Sign up, start fundraising or simply come Downtown to cheer them on. It’s going to be quite a view from Jefferson Street!

Walk of the Dead Haunted Trail opens October 2^nd and will run Fridays and Saturdays in October from 7:00 – 11:00 pm.  Located behind Lakeside Water Park (1033 S Lake Storey Road, Galesburg), the haunted trail offers patrons a terrifying walk through the woods. In its tenth year of operation, Walk of the Dead Haunted Trail is managed by the non-profit AGES Community in cooperation with the City of Galesburg.  The cost is $20 per person.

“This is our tenth year of scaring folks in the woods!” says organizer Sean Godsil. “We have new areas and new scares, but we have some old favorites too, of course. Every year we do things differently, so if you’ve come a previous year, we promise this year will be different. Actually, things can be different from night to night; you never know what to expect on the Walk of the Dead.”

Organizers recommend the haunt to children older than 13 years of age. The event is entirely outdoors and weather permitting, so please dress accordingly. No open-toed shoes, slippers, flip-flops, or slides allowed.   

Proceeds from the haunted trail help support the city’s nature programs and other recreational activities, including the Fishing Derby.

The Culver-Stockton College (C-SC) Department of Theatre invites the campus and local communities to experience the classic musical “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers” during its 2026 Homecoming Weekend celebration. The production brings together dynamic performances, classical music, and broad community involvement in the Alexander Campbell Auditorium inside the Robert W. Brown Performing Arts Center on C-SC’s campus Oct. 16–18.
Performances will take place at 7:30 p.m. Friday, October 16 and Saturday, Oct. 17, as well as at a 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18 matinee show.

Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for students and seniors, and free for C-SC students, faculty, and staff. 

The show is directed by C-SC Theatre Director and Senior Lecturer David Lane, and reservations can be made by emailing Lane at dlane@culver.edu or by scanning the QR code on the official show graphic (see attached).
