The Warren County Prime Beef Festival returns September 5-12, 2026, bringing a week of community pride and all things beef to Monmouth, Illinois. For generations, the Prime Beef Festival has celebrated the people, agriculture, businesses, and traditions that make Warren County special.

Saturday, September 5th:
7:00 pm - Princess Pageant @The Crossing

Singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Mean Mary will perform at Ca d’Zan House Concerts in Cambridge on Saturday, September 5. Presented by Crossroads Cultural Connections, the all-ages concert will begin at 7 p.m., following an optional community potluck dinner at 6 p.m.

Born Mary James in Geneva, Alabama, Mean Mary has lived an extraordinary life in music. She learned to read music before she could read words, wrote her first song before kindergarten, recorded her first album at age six, and began performing professionally as a child. By then, she was already playing guitar, banjo, and fiddle. Her early years were anything but ordinary. As a child, Mary spent time living with her family in the wilderness of northern Minnesota, where they stayed in a homemade plastic tent while building a log cabin by hand. Those experiences, along with years spent traveling, performing, and exploring traditional American music, helped shape the vivid storytelling that remains central to her work.

Her performances draw on a lifetime of experience, blending folk, Americana, bluegrass, roots music, compelling storytelling, and remarkable instrumental ability into an intimate live show.

Guests are invited to arrive at 6 p.m. for the optional potluck dinner and may bring a dish to share. The concert will begin at 7 p.m. Attendees should bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating. A donation of $20 to $30 is suggested, and music lovers of all ages are welcome.

With multiple No. 1 hits and a powerful country-rock sound, Tyler Farr brings a bold, high-impact performance to the grandstand. Known for chart-toppers like “Redneck Crazy” and “Whiskey in My Water,” he’s built a reputation for delivering big Saturday night energy.

This will be his first time taking the KILJ Stage at Old Threshers — and it’s going to be a memorable one.

Grandstand entertainment is included with your gate admission.

The Nauvoo Grape Festival is an annual celebration, held on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of Labor Day Weekend in the Nauvoo State Park and surrounding areas of Nauvoo. This long-running festival is packed with activities including competitive events, parades, entertainment, and more! The weekend also features the Festival on Wheels Car Show, one of the region's largest open-air car show.

The Western Illinois Museum will continue its Film, Food & Conversation series with a screening of the documentary The Thinking Game (2024) on Sunday, September 6, from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Following the screening, guests are invited to stay for Larry A's pizza, dessert, and conversation. A suggested $5 donation will be collected at the door.
The Thinking Game chronicles the extraordinary life of scientist Demis Hassabis and his relentless quest to solve the mystery of artificial general intelligence (AGI). Filmed over five years inside Google DeepMind's London headquarters, the film follows Hassabis and his team through pivotal moments in their pursuit of AI that matches or surpasses human ability, including the development of AlphaFold, a breakthrough that cracked a 50-year-old grand challenge in biology and went on to earn Hassabis and colleague John Jumper the 2024 Nobel Prize in Chemistry. The documentary captures both the excitement of scientific triumph and the setbacks along the way, offering audiences a rare, intimate look at one of the most consequential technological pursuits of our time.
