The market welcomes new vendors and offers a variety of goods, including fruits, vegetables, baked and canned goods, as well as artwork and crafts. It operates between 3 and 6 PM, making it accessible for afternoon and early evening shoppers.

Augusta Days 2026 will be held on September 18 & 19 in downtown Augusta, IL.

The theme is Old-Time Rock & Roll.

The parade will be on Saturday at 11 am.

Western Illinois University will host the annual Employee Memorial Tree Planting Ceremony at 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, at the Memorial Tree Grove on the west side of Sherman Hall. Each year, WIU honors employees who passed away the year prior in a memorial planting ceremony. This year, the ceremony will honor:

- Michael Dailey, construction project coordinator, Facilities Planning & Construction

- Steven Myers, grounds gardener, Landscape Maintenance

- Amanda Schulz, assistant director, Graduate Studies

- Sinta Seiber, radio station production supervisor, Public Service Radio

- William Clow, dean, College of Fine Arts and Communication

• Patricia Young, English professor, College of Arts and Sciences

The Memorial Tree Grove on the west side of Sherman Hall was established in the Fall of 2003, following a recommendation by members of Western's American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) Local 417, with support from the Civil Service Employees Council, the Council of Administrative Personnel, Faculty Senate and University administration. The annual ceremony includes one tree planted in memory of all employees who passed away during the preceding year. Honorees are employees who die while either actively working, on disability, on workers' compensation, or on an approved leave from the University. To date, Western has honored 65 individuals. Grab your friends, get creative, and get ready to sip, taste, shop, and stroll through Downtown Burlington during Sip, Taste & Stroll on Friday, September 18, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.
This popular Downtown Partners, Inc. event invites participants to explore downtown businesses while enjoying samples, special stops, shopping, and a fun evening out in the heart of Burlington.
This year’s theme is “Anything but a Cup!” Participants are encouraged to have a little fun and bring their creativity, but an official event cup will still be provided at check-in for sampling throughout the evening.
Participating businesses throughout Downtown Burlington will welcome attendees with samples and special experiences as guests make their way from stop to stop. The event provides a unique opportunity to discover new businesses, revisit favorite downtown destinations, and enjoy everything the district has to offer.

Tickets are $20 in advance through September 1.
Participants may begin checking in at 4:30 PM, where they will receive their event cup and map to guide them through the evening.

The Peoria Park District and German American Central Society united their efforts in 1996 to bring the first of the “signature events” planned for the Peoria Riverfront.
Peoria’s Oktoberfest” is the Midwestern equivalent of the Munich Oktoberfest.
