The Community Thanksgiving committee works hard each year to ensure no one goes hungry or eats along on Thanksgiving in Fort Madison, typically serving almost 1000 meals. The meal is made possible because of the generous and gracious donations from our businesses and community members. Monetary donations allow us to purchase food, supplies and packaging year to year. We also seek volunteers to assist in meal preparation, day-of packaging of meals and delivering meals to shut-ins.
Nov 29 Saturday
This beloved holiday tradition occurs every year the day after Thanksgiving with over 40 lighted floats that businesses can sponsor, as they become available. After the parade down Avenue G, the floats find their way to Central Park where they sit on display for the month of December for all to enjoy!
