CNN's Cuomo Conundrum

The New York Times reported on a dilemma CNN faced in recent weeks. The network's top-rated anchor is Chris Cuomo, whose brother Andrew faced a harassment scandal that ultimately led to his resignation as New York's governor.

The Times called this a difficult situation for the network and its president, Jeff Zucker, who had criticized Fox News when its prime-time hosts were involved in former President Donald Trump’s administration and campaign.

According to the Times, CNN barred Chris Cuomo from engaging in strategy sessions with the governor’s aides, but the network said it would not prohibit him from speaking directly with his brother about the scandal.

In May, Chris Cuomo apologized to viewers after word got out that he had counseled his brother’s aides on how to respond to the sexual misconduct accusations.
