Pinhook Days was once a cherished annual tradition in the Village of Industry. After several years of absence, a dedicated group of community members came together in early 2021 to bring the celebration back to life. Today, Industry Pinhook Days is a vibrant, family-friendly festival featuring live music, a Penny Carnival, craft and food vendors, a lively parade, a Pancake Breakfast, and so much more. This beloved event is made possible through the passion and hard work of the Industry Pinhook Days Committee and the generous support of our sponsors. We’re proud to celebrate community, tradition, and small-town spirit—together.

Local author Lynn-Steven Johanson introduces the seventh book in his Joe Erickson mystery series, Wreaking Vengeance, at New Copperfield's Book Service, 120 North Side Square, Macomb, Saturday, June 20, from 10:30 A.M. to Noon and 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
A woman is found decapitated along a bike path adjacent to Lake Michigan, and Chicago detective Joe Erickson is called in to investigate the grisly crime. A jogger who came upon the body reported seeing a hooded, black-clad figure resembling a ninja sprinting away.
As Joe and his partner, Sam Renaldo, investigate, two more people are attacked in the same way, and witnesses once again report seeing a hooded, masked figure hurriedly exiting the scene. Is this the work of some deranged individual acting out a sick fantasy, or what?
Joe and Sam attempt to piece together scant evidence before the killer strikes again. But their investigation has proven frustrating, as they have found no real suspects, and the three victims seem to have nothing in common. That is, until they happen upon the one aspect that links all three victims and points them toward the killer.
On Saturday, June 20th, from 1:00 to 5:00 pm, the Western Illinois Museum will host Illinois Voices 250, a statewide storytelling initiative documenting the voices and experiences of people across all 102 Illinois counties in honor of the nation’s 250th anniversary.
Created by Illinois Humanities, in partnership with the Illinois America 250 Commission and StoryCorps Studios, the upcoming Community Recording day will enable participants to record one-on-one conversations reflecting on their experiences and perspectives, preserving the voices of everyday Illinoisans: who we are, what we care about, and what we think is important about this moment in our country’s history. There is no cost to participate.
Can’t attend in person? A do‑it‑yourself recording option is also available online at ILHumanites.org/ILVoices250.

The Western Illinois Museum is a nonprofit organization dedicated to celebrating and preserving the history, culture, and traditions of McDonough County. Serving as a community gathering place for exhibits, lectures, music, and public programs, it is proud to contribute its perspectives and stories to this statewide effort.
The Western Illinois Museum and the McDonough County Genealogical Society invite the public to an Open House Ice Cream Social on Saturday, June 20, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Western Illinois Museum, 201 South Lafayette Street in downtown Macomb. The afternoon will celebrate the organizations’ ongoing collaboration and shared commitment to preserving and sharing the stories of McDonough County and the surrounding region. Guests can enjoy ice cream, hear live music from guitarist Dan Eilers, explore local history resources, tour the building, meet volunteers and staff, and learn more about the many ways the two organizations collaborate to make local history accessible and engaging for the community. A suggested $5 donation will be accepted at the door.
The two organizations are housed in a 100-year-old building that has been shaped by change and holds a history of its own. Originally home to a carriage business and later an automobile showroom designed to display the innovative Ford Model T, it is now a place for showcasing the forward-thinking work of the McDonough County Genealogical Society and WIM.
Working side by side, the Genealogical Society and WIM bring together family history research, regional archives, exhibitions, educational programs, and public conversations that connect personal stories to larger historical narratives. While each organization has a distinct mission, both share a belief that preserving and sharing local history strengthens community understanding and creates meaningful connections across generations.
Visitors to the open house will have the opportunity to explore the organization’s extensive historical resources, learn about research services, volunteer opportunities, exhibits, educational programming, and the many ways this building serves as a welcoming downtown gathering place.
