The Mount Sterling Farmers Market began in 2017 as a grassroots effort led by community members with the goal of promoting local food access, small businesses, and community gathering, laying the foundation for the market we know today.
Join us for a morning or afternoon of paddling and enjoying nature on beautiful Lake Argyle. Kayaks, paddles, and life jackets are being provided by the Friends of Argyle. Ten adult kayaks and 2 youth kayaks (for ages 5+) are available, so space is limited to the first 12 people to register for each tour. Two times are being offered each day, and each outing will be about 2 hours. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Meet at the parking area near the dam/spillway for this program.

The street between our businesses will be closed to create a vibrant pop-up market filled with local makers, small businesses, handmade goods, boutique finds, seasonal favorites, and so much more.
Spend the day exploring one-of-a-kind products, gifts, home décor, apparel, and fall-inspired treasures from both our outdoor vendors and 309 vendors. Many of our 309Marketplace vendors will also be offering exclusive Fall Fest promotions and event-day specials, making it the perfect time to shop local and discover something new.

Historic Walnut Grove Farm is celebrating 39 years on the Knox County Scenic Drive. Specializing in handmade art, music, homemade food, and family fun is the Barn Fest at Walnut Grove Farm. Local youth can showcase their talents with the Kids Rock the Arts contest on October 3 & 4, 10 & 11. The farm is located ½ mile north of Knoxville, IL. Kids Rock the Arts Contest at Walnut Grove Farm is sponsored by Blick Art Materials and the Galesburg Community Arts Center during the Knox County Scenic Drive. Artists from Kindergarten through the 12 th grade are encouraged to bring their original art to the Galesburg Community Arts Center at 349 E Main before September 26 by 3 PM. Youth two-dimensional artwork will be displayed at Walnut Grove Farm and judged by artist Calista Schultz. Blick Art Materials will provide the winners with gift certificates for a shopping experience at Blick’s retail store. All kids who enter can choose from the art supply grab bag given by Blick Art Materials when they pick up their art on October 11 at Walnut Grove Farm. The Orpheum's Haunted Flashlight Tour
Ever wonder why The Orpheum Theatre holds a reputation as one of Knox County’s most active paranormal haunts? Now is your chance to uncover the mystery. Guided by Orpheum staff, this immersive flashlight exploration takes you deep into the building’s hidden history—from the iconic 1916 grand opening to the spooky sightings reported by generations of theatergoers and staff.
Admission: $25 (plus a $1 convenience fee - fee is waived if paid in person with cash/check).
Included Drink/Cup: Every ticket includes one complimentary drink from our concessions stand to set the mood! Non-alcoholic options and 21+ adult beverages are available. Additionally, all attendees will receive an Orpheum Vaudeville Stars Souvenir Cup (4 to choose from - Houdini, The Marx Brothers, Burns & Allen, or Fanny Brice) as supplies last!*** The Orpheum will provide a flashlight for the tour, which will be collected once the tour is complete.
The Experience: Armed only with the provided flashlight, you’ll journey through restricted areas, navigating dark corridors, steep staircases, and historic spaces from the balcony down to the backstage area in this guided tour.
Arrival & Comfort: Doors open 30 minutes prior to showtime. Please note that this guided tour requires continuous standing and navigating multiple flights of stairs (the building does not have elevator access).
Age Restrictions: Ages 18+ (Guests ages 10–17 are welcome, but must be accompanied by an adult at ALL times).
